The penthouse, 17 million in cash and 45 million in bonds should be confiscated since all those came from the ponzi scheme operated by her husband. Not because those assets are under her name, doesn't mean that it should be exempt. These assets were acquired through criminal activity, therefore need to be taken back from the Madoff family. Those assets need to be liquidated so that the money can be used to pay Madoff's victims.

For sure all the family assets should be taken away. The question is, will the court ever find where he put most of the money? I'm sure Benard Madoff planned for this and have taken the money overseas. It will take a long time to recover the billions of money...

Seize all family assets. Most likely the money used to buy their properties and other assets where money from the scam. Feel bad for all those people who lost all their savings, including retirement money. A lot of the victims lost everything and will have to start all over again. All I can say is that Madoff does not have the conscience. How was he able to sleep knowing that he stole people's money???

Ruth is a liar. She said she inherited money from her parents who died, which was suppose to be the source of the $70 million. She is not telling the truth because per the will she was to receive only $37,000 which she declined. The entire family should go to jail because they are all involved in this scheme to make billions of money. All their assets should be taken away. Let them start all over again just like the people they have victimized.

Right on! I totally agree. The entire family should go to jail. They are liars. No one will believe them anymore. How can they not know about this. They are acting like they are innocent. If they really feel bad, they should voluntarily surrender their money, properties, cars, etc as these were all acquired using stolen money.

The court should just take away all the family assets and not leave anything, not even a penny so that they know how it feels to lose everything. Most of the people they fooled were ex-millionaires because the Madoff family wiped out all their savings. They should experience the same thing. This will be fair.
