Find Assisted Living Facilities
e.g. Los Angeles, CA 90210
Also known as: Board and Care, Retirement Homes
Specialty Care: Hospice, Respite, Alzheimer's Care, Dementia

Assisted living or retirement home facilities provide care, supervision and assistance to the daily activities of elderly. Typically, assisted living facilities offer meal service, housekeeping, social activities, medication assistance, transportation for medical appointments and other pleasure trips for seniors. Additional services like laundry, assistance with eating, bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing-up and other personal care, which seniors need, may also be available.

Assisted living facilities may also provide incidental medical services under special care plans. Although, assisted living communities are not required to have nurses and/or doctors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, they usually have medical staff on site or on call to be able to help seniors with their daily needs. The assisted living facilities provide services to persons 60 years of age and over and persons under 60 with compatible needs.

Assisted living Facilities are suited for seniors who want to live independently but need help with day-to-day activities. However, they do not require 24-hour supervision since they do not have any serious medical conditions.
